The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (8-4, 2-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated CCIW-opponent Illinois Wesleyan University (6-6, 1-1 CCIW), 18-5, on Saturday, April 11 at Art Keller in Kenosha, Wis.

Carthage led at halftime, 9-4, behind three goals by
Rachel Mussell (Fr., Mendota Heights, Minn./Convent of the Visitation). The Lady Reds out-scored the Titans, 9-1, in the second period.Â
Madison Griffin (So., Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) led Carthage with five goals, four assists and three ground balls, while Mussell scored five goals with three ground balls. Lady Reds goalkeeper
Taylor Sopron (Jr., La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) collected 12 saves. Maisie Cox and Maggie Krause each had two goals for Illinois Wesleyan.
