Box ScoreThe Carthage College men's tennis team (14-6, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin), ranked No. 16 in the April 9 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division III Central Region poll, shut out conference-opponent Illinois Wesleyan University (1-8, 0-2 CCIW), 9-0, on Saturday, April 11, at Beadles-Morse Courts in Bloomington, Ill.
Pawel Jaworski (So., Deerfield, Ill./Lincolnshire-Stevenson, 13-9) was a winner at No. 1 singles, defeating the Titan's George Alex 6-2, 6-4.
Alex Boomgarden (Jr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 19-4) was also successful at No. 2 singles, edging out Matijn van Dooren 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.
Ryan Jump (Jr., Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein, 17-3) won his match at No. 3 singles, as did
Jordan Verbauwhede (Jr., Whitelawe, Wis./Manitowoc-Lincoln, 17-8) at No. 4 singles,
Chris Conley (Jr., Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield Academy, 19-6) at No. 5 singles, and
Alex Ferruzzi (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Salem-Westosha Central, 15-8) at No. 6 singles.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Jaworski and Verbauwhede (15-6), ranked ninth in the region, defeated the Titan's duo of Alex and van Dooren, 9-7. Boomgarden and Conley (16-4) were also successful at No. 2 doubles, as was the team of Jump and Ferruzzi (7-4) at No. 3 doubles.

The Red Men take on conference-opponent Elmhurst College on Monday, April 13, in a 3:30 p.m. match at the Lester Brune Tennis Courts in Elmhurst, Illinois.
