After winning its first 10 games of the season, the Carthage College men's lacrosse team (10-2, 1-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) lost its second-straight contest on Saturday, April 11, falling to Whittier College (5-5), 14-7, at Memorial Stadiium in Whittier, Calif.
The Red Men led the Poets, 3-2, after the first period but fell behind, 8-5, at halftime. Whittier led, 11-7, after the third period and out-scored Carthage, 3-0, in the final period.
Maxwell Jones led the Poets with three goals and two assists, while Dan Prevedel had three goals and one assist.
Billy Lane,
Luke Seydel and
Jared Ferrell scored two goals each for the Red Men.
The Red Men close out the two-game trip on Sunday, April 11 by playing Colorado College (9-3) at 1 p.m. PST, also at Whittier College.
