The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (2-2, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) closed out a two-game trip to Sewanee, Tenn., on Sunday, March 8 with a 19-7 loss to the University of the South (3-0) at Puett Field in Sewanee, Tenn. The Lady Reds lost to the College of Wooster (1-1), 19-3, on Saturday, March 7.
In the loss to Sewanee, the Lady Reds fell behind, 14-4, at halftime, with the Tigers out-scoring the Lady Reds, 5-3, in the second period. Mallory Grimm and Reily King scored four goals each for Sewanee.
Rachel Mussell (Fr., Mendota Heights, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) and
Marissa Vavra (Jr., Darien, Ill./Lombard-Montini Catholic) scored two goals each for Carthage.
The Lady Reds travel to East Grand Rapids, Mich., on Wednesday, March 11 to play Calvin College in a 3 p.m., EDT game at Mehney Field.
