In almost-balmy temperatures in the low-to-mid 40s, the Carthage College men's lacrosse team (4-0, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) opened at home on Saturday, March 7 with a 14-10 win over Centre College (2-2) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.

The game was tied, 3-3, after the first period, and the Red Men led at halftime, 7-6, and still led by one point after three periods, 9-8. Centre tied the game twice in the fourth period, 9-9 and 10-10. A goal by Carthage's
Zack Patton, assisted by
Dylan Harris, at 11:22 put the Red Men up to stay, 11-10. Carthage scored three more unanswered goals for the final, 14-10 margin.

Tanner Thomas (Jr., Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit) scored three goals with two assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.Â

Ryan Smith (So., Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe) collected 12 saves. Matt Hughes, Seth Gray, Wes Hardman and Earman DeLay each scored two goals for Centre.
