The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (5-0, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) extended its season-opening win streak to five games on Tuesday, March 10 with a 15-8 win over Olivet College (1-3) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. The Red Men were listed as one of the teams "also receiving votes" in this week's United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's NCAA Division III poll.
The Red Men led, 6-2, after the first period. 8-4 at halftime and 13-6 after three periods Carthage's Rémy Giacotto (Sr., Elmwood Park, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) scored four goals with one assist and 14 ground balls, while converting 14-of-25 faceoffs,
Luke Seydel (Fr., San Diego, Calif./Westview) scored four goals with an assist and three ground balls, and
Jared Ferrell (Jr., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) had three goals. James Collins scored three goals with one assist for the Comets.
Carthage plays host to Cornell College (1-1) on Friday, March 13 in a 4:30 p.m. game, also at Art Keller Field.
