The Carthage College men's volleyball team (19-6, 11-0 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League), ranked No. 8 in the March 17 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, outlasted conference-opponent Lakeland College (13-15, 6-5 MCVL), 3-2, on Wednesday, March 25 at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium in Howards Grove, Wis. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Muskies were 30-28, 20-25, 24-26, 25-13 and 15-11.
Griffin Shields (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the Red Men with 18 kills, seven digs and four block assists.
J.P. Tulacka (Jr., Westmont, Ill./Downers Grove-North) had 17 kills with a .481 attack percentage and eight block assists, while
Jon Storm (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) added 13 kills. Setter Tyler Saeig (So., Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove-North) collected 44 assists.
On Saturday, March 28, Carthage travels to Lisle, Ill., to take on conference-opponent Benedictine University (Ill., 7-14, 4-8 MCVL) in a 1 p.m. contest at the Dan & Ada Rice Center.
