The Carthage College men's volleyball team (20-6, 13-0 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League), ranked No. 8 in the March 17 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept conference-opponent Benedictine University (Ill., 7-15, 4-9 MCVL), 3-0, on Saturday, March 28 at the Dan & Ada Rice Center in Lisle, Ill. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Eagles were 25-11, 25-13 and 25-20.
Griffin Shields (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the Red Men with 12 kills, a .476 attack percentage, six service aces and 10 digs.
Jon Storm (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) had nine kills and hit .318, and setter
Ricky Figueroa (Fr., Newbury Park, Ca./ Oaks Christian) collected 30 assists.
Carthage concludes its regular-season schedule on Wednesday, April 1 by playing host to conference-opponent Loras College (3-19, 1-12 MCVL) in a 7 p.m. match at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.
