The Carthage College men's volleyball team (9-4, 7-0 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League), ranked No. 7 in the Feb. 24 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept conference-opponent Fontbonne University (3-14, 0-7 MCVL), 3-0, on Sunday, March 1 at Mabee Gymnasium in St. Louis, Mo. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Griffins were 25-23, 30-28 and 25-20. Carthage remains in sole possession of first place in the league.
Jon Storm (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the Red Men with 14 kills, a .367 attack percentage, seven digs and four block assists.
Zach Lillig (Fr., Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) had eight kills and three block assists, while
Will Craft (Jr., Crete, Ill/.Chicago Heights-Marian Catholic) had seven kills and three block assists. Setter
Ricky Figueroa (Fr., Newbury Park, Calif./Oaks Christian) collected 41 assists. Aaron Graue led the Griffins with nine kills and three block assists.
The Red Men travel to River Forest, Ill., on Wednesday, March 4 to take on MCVL-opponent Dominican University (Ill., 7-5, 6-1 MCVL) in a 7 p.m. match at the Igini Sports Forum.
