The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (2-0, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Rhodes College (1-1), 14-8, on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Crain Field in Memphis, Tenn. The Red Men opened their season on Saturday, Feb. 14 with an 11-4 win over Southwestern University (Texas, 1-2), also at Crain Field.
In Sunday's win over Rhodes, Carthage took a 5-1 lead in the first period, led 7-4 at halftime and 9-4 after the third period. The Red Men's
Jared Ferrell (Jr., Trabuco Canyon, Calif./El Toro) scored four goals, as did
Dylan Harris (Fr., Carlsbad, Calif.). Goalkeeper
Ryan Smith (So., Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe) collected eight saves. Jason Lee and Owen Koorbusch led the Lynx with two goals each.
Carthage travels to Lisle, Ill., on Saturday, Feb. 28 to play Benedictine University (Ill., 1-0) in an 11 a.m. game at the Lisle-Benedictine Sports Complex.
