Men's Soccer to face Loras on Sunday in second round of NCAA Tournament

DUBUQUE, Iowa. – The Carthage College men's soccer team (12-7-3, 4-2-1 CCIW) will compete in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Sunday, November 15th at 1 p.m. against the Duhawks of Loras College. The match will take place on the campus of Loras College at the Rock Bowl. This season is the third time that the Red Men have qualified for the NCAA Tournament. 
 
The Red Men beat Ohio Northern University 3-2 in the first round of competition on Thursday, Nov. 12th in Ada, Ohio to advance to Sunday's match. The win over Ohio Northern was the first ever NCAA Tournament win for the men's soccer program at Carthage College.
 
The Duhawks of Loras College hold a record of 14-4-1, 7-0 in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and are ranked No. 11 overall in the nov. 10th NSCAA Coaches Top 25 Poll. This is Loras' 11th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their third time earning a bye in the first round. Admission for Sunday's match is $6 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens and $2 for ages 3-12. The winner of the match will take on the winner of the Washington University (Mo.) Regional in the third round on Nov. 21st.
