DECATUR, Ill. – The Carthage College women's soccer team put together 90 complete minutes Saturday at the Millikin Soccer Complex to take care of the Millikin University Big Blue with a 3-1 win.

The win was one of the most dominant of the season as Carthage never let-off the pedal, outshooting the Big Blue 26-2 and 19-1 on target. Carthage controlled much of the first half in the Millikin half earning a 10-0 advantage in shots with seven of them on goal.

It looked as though Millikin was going to escape the first half unharmed but in the 42nd minute
Kara Aittama scored her first goal of the season on the Lady Reds 10th shot of the half.

Carthage added two more in the second half as
Erin Ganzke and
Corinne Brennan scored in the 60th and 74th minute respectively. Freshman
Maggie Washelesky had both second half assists for the Lady Reds to increase her team-leading point total to 22 on the season.

Carthage surrendered the lone goal with the match in-hand as Millikin's lone shot on goal came in the 86th minute.

Senior goalkeeper
Abby Alm faced only two shots in the match with the goal coming on the Big Blue's lone on target.  The backline play of
Rachel Post,
Darcy Stoecklin,
Kayla McGuinness and
Kara Aittama stopped many of the MIllikin possessions before they could build-up and create decent scoring opportunities.

The Lady Reds will return home for two matches to finish the regular season as Carthage plays host to Aurora University Monday, October 26th at 5:00 p.m., followed by Elmhurst on Saturday, October 31st at 5:00 p.m.
