The Carthage College men's volleyball team (0-0, 0-0 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League) was ranked No. 5 in the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association pre-season NCAA Division III poll.
Juniata College (6 first-place votes) was ranked first in the poll, followed by the Stevens Institute of Technology (4 first-place votes) second, Springfield College (6 first-place votes) third, the State University of New York-New Paltz fourth, Carthage fifth, Kean University sixth, the University of California-Santa Cruz seventh, Rivier College eighth, Nazareth College ninth, Elmira College 10th, New York University 11th, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology 12th, Baruch College 13th, Stevenson University 14th and Medaille College ranked 15th.Â

The Red Men open their 2015 season on Wednesday, Jan. 14 by traveling to Romeoville, Ill., to take on Lewis University (2-1) in a 7 p.m. match at Neil Carey Arena.  The Flyers were ranked No. 5 in the Jan. 12 AVCA NCAA Division I-II poll.
Carthage opens at home on Saturday, Jan. 24 by playing host to a triangular at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage takes on Trinity International University (Ill.) at 11 a.m., followed by Trinity International (Ill.) versus Hannibal-LaGrange University at 1 p.m. and Carthage playing Hannibal-LaGrange at 3 p.m.
