Box Score The Carthage College men's volleyball team (22-6, 10-0 Continental Volleyball Conference West Division), ranked fourth in the April 2 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, closed out its regular-season schedule on Saturday night, April 5 with a 3-2 win over conference-opponent the College of Mount St. Joseph (16-11, 4-6 CVC West) at the Harrington Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Lions were 20-25, 25-13, 17-25, 25-21, 15-10.
Jim Schultz (Sr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) led the Red Men with 17 kills and a .325 attack percentage and 10 digs.
Jon Storm (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) had 16 kills, with
J.P. Tulaka (So., Westmont, Ill./Downers Grove-North) and
Kevin Farrell (Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) collecting 10 kills each, Farrell also adding eight digs. Setter
Connor Wexter (Sr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) averaged 10.00 assists per set. Alex Vohland led the Lions with 19 kills and a .425 attack percentage, while Tony Birnbrich had 14 kills with a .522 mark.
Carthage travels to Greenville, Pa., on Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13 for the CVC Tournament at Thiel College's Beeghly Gymnasium.
