The Carthage College women's tennis team (13-6, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) closed out its regular-season schedule on Sunday, April 27 by winning both ends of an indoor double-dual match at the Eastside Tennis & Fitness Club in Kenosha, Wis.  The Lady Reds defeated Edgewood College (17-7) and St. Norbert College (23-5) by identical, 7-2 scores.
 
Carthage's Haleigh McPeek (Jr. Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 16-10) defeated Edgewood's Morgan Wilson at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2, and won over St. Norbert's Nancy Chybowski, 6-2, 6-0.  Bari Reynolds (Sr., Sterling, Ill., 14-13) defeated Edgewood's Anna Miles at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, and won over the Green Knights' Elizabeth Manlick, 6-3, 6-2.  Abbi Howell (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 16-13) split at No. 3 singles.  Eliza Barter (Fr., Deerfield, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy, 10-15) won both of her No. 4 singles matches.  Holly Weber (Sr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 13-9) lost both of her No. 5 singles contests, but Kelsey Bowen (Sr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 14-6) swept at No. 6 singles. 
 
The Lady Reds' No. 1 doubles team of Reynolds and McPeek (22-5) split.  Carthage's No 2 team of Howell and Barter (11-12) won both, as did the Lady Reds' No. 3 tandem of Holly Weber and Kristin Kalinka (Fr., Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph, 18-7).

Carthage opens play at the CCIW Automatic Qualifying Tournament on Friday, May 2 in Elmhurst, Ill.  Carthage takes on Augustana College (Ill., 17-6, 6-0 CCIW) in a semifinal match at either 2 p.m. or 3 p.m., depending on the weather.  The site is also weather-dependent and will be either Berens Park in Elmhurst or the Wheaton Sport Center in Wheaton, Ill.  Wheaton College (Ill., 13-5, 5-1 CCIW) takes on North Central College (10-9, 2-4 CCIW) in the other semifinal contest.  The tournament-championship match will be played on Saturday, May 3 at either 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. at one of the two sites.
