The Carthage College men's tennis team (15-6, 3-1 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) defeated Lake Forest College (12-12), 9-0, on Wednesday, April 16 at the Lake Forest Tennis Courts in Lake Forest, Ill.
 
Carthage's Alex Boomgarden (So., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 18-10) defeated the Foresters' Ellis Lora-Arceo at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2.  Ryan Jump (So., Mundelein, Ill., 18-8) won over Dragan Trivanovic at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2.  Pawel Jaworski (Fr., Deerfield, Ill., 18-7) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was Chris Conley (So., Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield Academy, 16-9) at No. 4 singles matches, Tony O'Connell (So., Roswell, N.M./Natabua, 19-7) at No. 5 singles and Alex Ferruzzi (So., Kenosha, Wis./Salem-Westosha Central, 14-10) at No. 6 singles.  Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of Pawel Jaworski and Chris Conley (8-4) defeated the Foresters' team of Ellis Lora-Arceo and Anthony Warren, 8-3.  The Red Men's No. 2 team of Alex Boomgarden and Ryan Jump (8-3) was a winner over Lake Forest, as was Carthage's No. 3 tandem of Tony O'Connell and Alex Feruzzi (4-3).
 
On Friday, April 18, the Red Men play host to NCAA Division I DePaul University (8-13) in an 11 a.m. contest at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
