Box Score The Carthage College men's volleyball team (16-5, 6-0 Continental Volleyball Conference West Division), ranked fourth in the March 18 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept CVC West Division opponent the Milwaukee School of Engineering (4-14, 1-5 CVC West), 3-0, on Wednesday, March 19 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Raiders were 25-17, 25-13 and 25-12. Carthage has won 10-straight matches since losing to Cardinal Stritch University on Feb. 20.
Jon Storm (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the Red Men with nine kills and a .750 attack percentage (9-0-12).
Jim Schultz (Sr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central), playing against his father, MSOE coach Wayne Schultz, had seven kills and three block assists.
Jeff Beach (Sr., St. Charles, Ill./North) also collected seven kills with three block assists, and
Kevin Farrell (Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) had seven kills and two block assists. Setter
Connor Wexter (Sr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) averaged 11.33 assists per set. Brett Herbers led MSOE with eight kills.
On Sunday, March 23, Carthage plays a pair of matches at the University of California-Santa Cruz' West Fieldhouse in Santa Cruz, Calif. The Red Men take on Holy Names University (2-8) at Noon, PST, and the host-Banana Slugs (10-10), ranked No. 7, at 7 p.m., PST.
