Box Score The Carthage College men's volleyball team (6-4, 0-0 Continental Volleyball Conference), ranked ninth in the Feb. 11 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, won its home-opener on Saturday, Feb. 15 with a 3-0 sweep of St. Xavier University (1-10) at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. The Red Men's winning set scores over the Cougars were 25-14, 25-21 and 25-13.
Carthage's
Jim Schultz (Sr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) collected a match-high 11 kills with a .238 attack percentage, while
J.P. Tulaka (So., Westmont, Ill./Downers Grove-North) had seven kills with a .556 mark and two block solos. Setter
Connor Wexter (Sr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) averaged 10.0 assists per set. Sam Kull led St. Xavier with seven kills, three block solos and a block assists.
Carthage travels to Milwaukee on Thursday, Feb. 20 to play Cardinal Stritch University (8-8) in a 7 p.m. match at Stritch Gym.
