The Carthage College women's volleyball team (27-3, 6-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin), ranked 17th in the Oct. 28 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept CCIW-opponent North Park University (8-21, 0-7 CCIW), 3-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Vikings were 25-12, 29-27 and 25-7. Carthage won the second set after falling behind the Vikings, 19-15. With the win, Carthage clinched its 10th CCIW championship and its first since 2011.
Rachel Fields (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) led the Lady Reds with a match-high 12 kills and a .323 attack percentage.
Stefanie Romanowski (So., Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) had 11 kills and hit .500 (11-0-2).
Bria Hailey (Jr., Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) had 10 kills with a .450 attack percentage, and
Emily Heuermann (Jr. Washington, Ill.) added 10 kills with a .286 mark.
Hannah Cahoon (Sr., Watertown, Wis./Watertown) and
Luci Krenzke (Fr., Racine, Wis./Greenfield) had 14 digs each, and
Karen Chin (Jr., Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) collected 43 assists. "This team's chemistry is phenomenal," said Carthage coach

Carthage travels to Lisle, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 to play in the Benedictine University (Ill.) "Eagle Classic" at the Dan & Ada Rice Center. Carthage plays the host-Eagles at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 and No. 30 DePauw University at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Lady Reds take on Dominican University (Ill.) at 10 a.m. and Bluffton College at Noon.
