Men's Volleyball Sweeps Cardinal Stritch on March 20

Red Men Play Host to MSOE on April 4

Box Score The Carthage College men's volleyball team (21-6, 3-0 Continental Volleyball Conference), ranked third in the March 19 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept Cardinal Stritch University (19-9), 3-0, on Wednesday, March 20 at the Stritch Gym in Milwaukee.  The Red Men's winning set scores over the Wolves were 25-23, 25-23 and 25-16.  Carthage has won 12-straight matches since March 1, the third-longest winning streak in school history.
 
Pat Barry (Jr., Skokie, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy) led the Red Men with 14 kills and .364 attack percentage, along with a block solo and two block assists, while Jon Storm (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) had 11 kills and hit .417.   Setter Connor Wexter (Jr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) averaged 10.67 assists per set.  Noah Mader led Cardinal Stritch with a match-high 20 kills and a .654 attack percentage.
 
Carthage plays host to the Continental Volleyball Conference Weekend II Tournament on Thursday-Saturday, April 4-6 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.  On Thursday, April 4, Carthage plays the Milwaukee School of Engineering in a 7 p.m. match, followed by Fontbonne University on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m. and No. 5 the University of California-Santa Cruz on Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m.  Four other neutral-site matches will played:  UC-Santa Cruz versus MSOE on April 5 at 6 p.m., UC-Santa Cruz versus Fontbonne on April 5 at 8 p.m., MSOE against Fontbonne on April 6 at 3 p.m. and UC-Santa Cruz taking on Fontbonne a second time on April 6 at 5 p.m., the latter a non-conference match.
