Men's Volleyball Goes 2-1 at the March 1-2 Lindenwood Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Carthage College men's volleyball team (12-6, 0-0 Continental Volleyball Conference), ranked fourth in the Feb. 26 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, went 2-1 at the Friday-Saturday, March 1-2 Lindenwood University Tournament at the Hyland Performance Arena in St. Charles, Mo. 

Carthage opened tournament play on Friday, March 1 with a 3-0 loss to Lindenwood before defeating Limestone College (8-7) by a 3-1 margin.  The Lions' winning set scores over the Red Men were 25-17, 25-18 and 25-19, and Carthage's winning scores over Limestone were 25-23, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-17.  On Saturday, March 2, the Red Men swept King College (Tenn., 8-12) by a 3-0 margin with winning scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-22.
 
Colin Hackworth led Lindenwood with 11 kills and a .320 attack percentage.  Scott Siwicki had 10 kills with a .615 mark, and Michael Adams also had 10 kills.  Jon Storm (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led Carthage with 11 kills and hit .429.  Setter Connor Wexter (Jr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) averaged 8.66 assists per set. 

In the Limestone match, Jon Storm collected 24 kills and hit ,340 with a block solo and three block assists.  Jim Schultz (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) had 14 kills with a .385 attack percentage and three block assists, and Pat Barry (Jr., Skokie, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy) had 12 kills with three block assists.  Kris Telfer (Fr., San Jose, Calif./Prospect) added nine kills with a .412 mark and seven block assists.  Connor Wexter averaged 13.0 assists per set.  In the King (Tenn.) contest, Jon Storm collected nine kills, with Jim Schultz and Barry picking up eight kills each.
 
Following tournament play, Carthage journeyed to St. Louis, Mo., and swept Fontbonne University (1-6), 3-0, at Maybee Gymnasium with winning scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-16.  Jon Storm had 15 kills and hit .619 against the Griffins.
