The Carthage College men's track and field team (38-10-1 indoor record), ranked 23rd in the Feb. 13 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches of America NCAA Division III poll and 10th in the USTFCCA Midwest Region poll, tied for fifth place at the Saturday, Feb. 16 Wisconsin-Stevens Point “Eastbay Invitational” at the Quandt Fieldhouse in Stevens Point, Wis.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the 19-team event with 145 points, followed by Wisconsin-La Crosse second at 99, Wisconsin-Stevens Point third at 90, Wisconsin-Eau Claire fourth at 84, Carthage and Carroll University (Wis.) tied for fifth place at 32 each, St. Norbert College seventh at 28.50, Ripon College eighth at 22, North Central College ninth at 14, Wabash College 10th at 13, Wisconsin Lutheran College 11th at 12.50, St. Mary's University (Minn.) 12th at 10, the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a Wisconsin-Stevens Point alumni team tied for 13th place with eight points each, Lawrence University 15th with seven, Beloit College 16th with six, Viterbo University 17th with three and Concordia University (Wis.) and Lakeland College tied for 18th place with one point each.
 
Cale Brown (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) was third in the triple jump (44-8).  Ron Banks (So., Waukegan, Ill.) was fourth in the long jump (20-11 ¼).  Derrik Guyette (So., Hortonville, Wis.) was fifth in the weight throw (58-6) and sixth in the shot put (53-7).  Eric Schmidt (Sr., Kewaunee, Wis.) was sixth in the weight throw (58-1 ¼).  Carthage plays host to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Track and Field Championship on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 22-23 at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center in Kenosha, Wis. (1 p.m./10:30 a.m.).
