Results
The Carthage College men's track and field team (18-4) finished third at the Saturday, April 7 Chicagoland Outdoor Track and Field Championship at the University of Chicago's Amos Alonzo Stagg Field in Chicago.
North Central College won the 16-team event with 204 points, followed by DePaul University second at 124, Carthage third at 73, Illinois-Chicago fourth at 69, Lewis University fifth at 58, the College of DuPage sixth at 55, Harper College seventh at 53, Chicago State University eighth at 52, the host-Maroons ninth at 46, Olivet Nazarene University 10th at 37, Concordia University (Chicago) 11th at 29, Elmhurst College 12th at 23, Benedictine University (Ill.) 13th at 15, St. Xavier University 14th at 12, Loyola University (Ill.) 15th with four points and the Illinois Institute of Technology 16th with two points.
Carthage's
Greg Raimondi (Sr., Harwood Heights, Ill./Norridge-Ridgewood) won the hammer throw (187-11) and finished third in the discus (162-1).
Eric Schmidt (Jr., Kewaunee, Wis.) was third in the hammer throw (165-1), as was
Cale Brown (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) in the triple jump (44-7), and
Derrik Guyette (Fr., Hortonville, Wis.) in the shot put (51-4 ½). The Red Men travel to Wheaton, Ill., on Saturday, April 14 for the Wheaton College (Ill.) "Twilight Invitational" at McCully Stadium, beginning at 3 p.m.
