Results
The Carthage College men's track and field team (28-15) sent a partial squad to the Sunday, April 29 Wisconsin Private College Track and Field Championship at Ripon College's Ingalls Field and finished sixth. St. Norbert College won the seven-team event with 195 points, followed by Ripon second at 138, Edgewood College third at 88, Beloit College fourth at 89, Wisconsin Lutheran College fifth at 73, Carthage sixth at 69 and Lakeland College seventh with 30 points.
Carthage's
Greg Raimondi (Sr., Harwood Heights, Ill./Norridge-Ridgewood) won both the discus (151-10) and the hammer throw (190-10), while finishing second in the shot put (51-5 ¾).
Derrik Guyette (Fr., Hortonville, Wis.) won the shot put (52-2).
Eric Schmidt (Jr., Kewaunee, Wis.) was second in the discus (142-0) and third in the hammer throw (171-2).
Danny Diaz (So., Cicero, Ill./Morton East) was third in the discus (137-11), as was
Jarrayl Johnson (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill./South Holland-Thornwood) in the shot put (49-4 ¼).
The Red Men travel to Bloomington, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, May 4-5 for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Illinois Wesleyan University's Tucci Stadium (10 a.m. both days).
