The Carthage College men's track and field team (41-19-1 indoor record) tied for sixth place at the Saturday, Feb. 18 Wisconsin-Stevens Point "Eastbay/Pointer Invitational" at the Multi-Activity Center in Stevens Point, Wis. 

Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the 15-team event with 116.50 points, followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater second at 113, Wisconsin-Stevens Point third at 97, Wisconsin-Eau Claire fourth at 58, Wisconsin-Stout fifth at 54, Carthage and Wisconsin-La Crosse tied for sixth place at 36 each, St. Norbert College eighth at 28, Ripon College ninth at 17.50, Concordia University (Wis.) 10th at 17, Coe College and the Wisconsin-Stevens Point alumni tied for 11th place at 16 each, Wisconsin Lutheran College 13th at 15, Lawrence University 14th with six points and Lakeland College 15th with one point.
 
Carthage's Aryan Avant (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) won the 400-meter dash (49.93).  Derrik Guyette (Fr., Hortonville, Wis.) was fourth in the shot put (52-2 ½), and Jose Flores (Sr., Round Lake, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) was fifth in the 800-meter run (1:56.79).  The Red Men's 4x400-meter relay team of Marshall Stewart (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), Cale Brown (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), Nick Blakey (Jr., St. Joseph, Ill./St. Joseph-Ogden) and Avant finished second and set a Carthage record for the second-straight week, this time at 3:19.25.  The 4x400 relay team is currently ranked seventh in NCAA Division III.
 
Carthage travels to Naperville, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 24-25 for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Track and Field Championship at North Central College's Al B. Carious Track (1 p.m./10:30 a.m.).
