The Carthage College men's swimming team (0-1 dual-meet record) opened its 2012-13 season on Friday, Oct. 26 with a 168-125 loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater at Williams Center Pool in Whitewater, Wis.
Carthage's
Eric Primdahl (Jr., Kildeer, Ill./Arlington Heights-St. Viator) won both the 200 freestyle (1:50.12) and the 500 freestyle (5:02.19). Benjamin Ertl (So., Phillips, Wis.) won the 50 freestyle (22.70) and took second in the 100 freestyle (51.11).
Teryn Solan (So., St. John, Ind./Lake Central) won the 1,000 freestyle (10:21.78).
Austin Davidson (Fr., Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) was second in both the 100 backstroke (56.12) and the 200 backstroke (2:02.87).
Scott Pinter (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Normal-Community) was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.05)., as was
Derrick Rendon (So., Waukesha, Wis./South) in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.64) and
Bryce Peters (Fr., Palos Heights, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) in the 200 individual medley (2:02.73). The Red Men also picked up a win from their 200 freestyle relay team of Ertl,
Tom Hubbard (Fr., Woodridge, Ill./Naperville-North),
Tyler Smith (Sr., Farmington, Minn.) and
Steven Mathe (Sr., Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein-Carmel Catholic).
Carthage plays host to Lake Forest College on Saturday, Nov. 3 in a 1 p.m. dual meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
