Results

The Carthage College women's swimming team (6-0 dual meet record) beat Lewis University, 127-78, on Jan. 7 at the Lewis Pool in Romeoville, Ill. 

Carthage's Ember McCoy (So. Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won three events, taking first place in the 200 freestyle (1:59.09), the 500 freestyle (5:19.81) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:57.24).  Ashley Gladis (Fr. Batavia, Ill./Batavia) won two events, taking first in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.89) and the 200 individual medley (2:14.26).  Susan Peinsipp  (So. Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) won the 100 butterfly (1:01.29). 

Kelly Loftus (So., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) took second place in the 100 butterfly (1:02.15), as did Jensena Paul (Sr. Portage, Wis./Portage) in the 100 backstroke (1:03.53).  Natalia Bialecka (So., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) took third place in both the 50 freestyle (25.75) and the 100 freestyle (56.90).  Taylor Hutton (Fr., Naperville, Ill./North) finished third in both the 500 freestyle (5:32.28) and the 1,000 freestyle (11:23.25). 

Lisa Perdue (Fr., Whittier, Calif.) finished third in the 200 freestyle (2:03.07), as did Sarah Wodnik (So., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) in the 100 backstroke (1:05.56) and Allison Soper (Fr., Downers Grove, Ill./North) in the 100 breastroke (1:12.66).  The Lady Reds also picked up relay wins from their 200 medley team of Jensena Paul, Ashley Gladis, Susan Peinsipp and Megan Shover (Fr. Prospect Heights, Ill./Arlington Heights-St. Viator) with a time of (1:53.32) and their 200 freestyle squad of Jensena Paul, Lisa Perdue, Natalia Bialecka and Megan Shover with a time of 1:41.98. 

The Lady Reds play host to Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday, Jan. 14 in a 2 p.m. meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
