North Central "Cardinal Opener" Results
Wisconsin-Stevens Point Quadrangular Results
The Carthage College men's track and field team (6-8 indoor record) was scheduled to travel to Naperville, Ill., on Friday, Jan. 20 for the North Central College “Cardinal Opener” at Merner Fieldhouse, but a winter storm led to most of the Red Men not making the trip. Instead, Carthage sent a contingent to the Saturday, Jan. 21 Wisconsin-Stevens Point Quadrangular at the Multi Activity Center in Stevens Point, Wis., where the Red Men finished fourth . Wisconsin-Platteville won the four-team event with 113 points, followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire second at 103, Wisconsin-Stevens Point third at 76 and Carthage fourth with 16 points.
Carthage's
Greg Raimondi (Sr., Harwood Heights, Ill./Norwood-Ridgewood) was third in the weight throw (56-3 ¾) and sixth in the shot put 47-3 3.4).
Mike Brown (Fr., St. Charles, Ill./East) finished third in the 60-meter dash (7.16)., as did
Aryan Avant (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) in the 400-meter dash (50.13).
Eric Schmidt (Jr., Kewaunee, Wis.) finished fourth in the weight throw (54-7 ¼). The Red Men play host to the “Tadd Metzger Invitational” on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center in Kenosha, Wis., beginning at 3:30 p.m.
