Women's Swimming Defeated by Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Jan. 14

The Carthage College women's swimming team (6-1 dual meet record) lost to Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 132-73, on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis. 
 
Carthage's Ashley Gladis (Fr., Batavia, Ill./Batavia) finished second in both the 100 freestyle (54.30) and the 200 breaststroke (2:32.28). Gladis also took third in the 400 medley relay (4:09.71) along with Jensena Paul (Sr., Portage, Wis./Portage), Kelly Loftus (So., Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) and Natalia Bialecka (So., Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East). Paul also took a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:22.22) behind Loftus in second (2:13.84). Bialecka took third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.31.
 
Lisa Perdue (Fr., Whittier, Calif./Whittier) finished second in the 50 freestyle (25.45), and third in the 500 freestyle (5:27.75).  Second-place finishes were taken by Susan Peinsipp (So., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) in the 200 butterfly (2:19.09) and Ember McCoy (So., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) in the 500 freestyle (5:24.42). Lady Reds' Sarah Wodnik (So., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar) took third in the 400 IM (4:54.53), along with Alisa Danzer (Fr., Racine, Wis./Case) who also took a third place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:32.23)
 
The Lady Reds also took second and third-place finishes in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Paul, McCoy, Loftus and Perdue took second with a time of 1:43.87. The team of Peinsipp, Taylor Hutton (Fr., Naperville, Ill./North), Jackie Knightly (Fr., Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) and Emily Voss (Jr., Downers Grove, Ill./South) took third with a time of 1:49.44.  The Lady Reds will play host to Wheaton College, Jan. 14 in an 11 a.m. meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
