Results

The Carthage College men's track and field team (6-5 indoor record) opened its indoor season on Friday-Saturday, Jan. 13-14  by tying for fifth place at the Private College Invitational at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center in Kenosha, Wis. 

North Central College won the 13-team event with 179 points, followed by Wisconsin-Milwaukee second at 116, Olivet Nazarene University third at 104, Ashford University fourth at 61, Carthage and Carroll University (Wis.) tied for fifth at 45 point each, Wisconsin-Parkside seventh at 42, the Milwaukee School of Engineering eighth at 28, Concordia University (Chicago) ninth at 27, Concordia University (Wis.) 10th at 19, Beloit College 11th with six points, Oakton Community College 12th with five and the Illinois Institute of Technology 13th with one point.
 
Carthage's Cale Brown (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) took second place in the triple jump (46-0) and fourth in the long jump (22-0 ¾).  Greg Raimondi (Sr., Harwood Heights, Ill./Norwood-Ridgewood) was third in both the shot put (48-10) and the weight throw (55-3 ½).  James Neylan (Sr., Morgan Hill, Calif./St. Francis) finished fifth in the decathlon (3,763 points). 

The Red Men travel to Naperville, Ill., on Friday, Jan. 20 for the North Central College “Cardinal Opener” at Merner Fieldhouse, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
