The Carthage College women's volleyball team (15-2, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked seventh in the Sept. 27 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept non-conference opponent Lake Forest College (7-9), 3-0, on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Foresters were 25-19, 25-15 and 25-23. Carthage fell behind, 13-9, in the final set, before taking over at 20-19. Lake Forest re-gained the lead, 23-22, but the Lady Reds ran off the final three points to take a 25-23 decision and the match.

Michelle Madeja (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led Carthage with 12 kills, a .276 attack percentage and three blocks (1 solo, 2 assisted), while outside hitter
Lauren Dembkowski (Sr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) had nine kills and hit .286. Middle blocker
Cindy Cavanagh (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Aurora-Waubonsie Valley) had seven kills, and setter
Drewann Pancratz (Sr., Schaumburg, Ill.) averaged 10.0 assists per set. Carthage plays host to conference-opponent Illinois Wesleyan University in a 7 p.m. match on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.Â
