Carthage College women's track and field thrower Mindy Harrington (Sr., Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond-Burton) won three events at the May 12-13 North Central College “Dr. Keeler Invitational” at Benedetti-Wehril Stadium in Naperville, Ill., taking first place in the discus (147-4), the shot put (46-10 ¼) and the hammer throw. She threw an NCAA-automatic 178-1 in the hammer throw, her third NCAA-automatic mark. Harrington was already an automatic qualifier in both the shot put and the discus.
For the Carthage men's team, Prentis Wilbourne (Sr., Racine, Wis./Case) was third in the triple jump (45-10 ½) at the same event, while Jarrayl Johnson (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill./South Holland-Thornwood) was fourth in the shot put (52-6). Carthage returns to Naperville, Ill., on Thursday-Friday, May 19-20 for the North Central College “Gregory Last Chance Invitational” at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium (5 p.m. each day).
