The Carthage College men's track and field team (32-13-1 outdoor record) finished third at the Saturday, April 30 Wisconsin Private College Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium in Milwaukee.

Carroll University (Wis.) won the nine-team event with 167 points one point ahead of second-place Ripon College at 166. Carthage was third at 147, followed by St. Norbert College fourth at 100, Beloit College fifth at 68, Edgewood College sixth at 42, the Milwaukee School of Engineering seventh at 40, Wisconsin Lutheran eighth at 24 and Viterbo University ninth with one point.

Greg Raimondi (Jr., Harwood Heights, Ill./Norwood-Ridgewood) won the discus (152-0), while taking third place in both the hammer throw (165-6) and the shot put (47-4 ½). Josh Brennan (Sr., Geneva, Ill.) took first place in the hammer throw (170-3), as did Brad Fortney (Sr., Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) in the shot put (51-3 ½). Jarrayl Johnson (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill./South Holland-Thornwood) was second in both the shot put (50-4 ½) and the discus (139-11). D'Monti Fedele (Fr., Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) was third in the pole vault (12-0), as was Andrew Strazewski (Fr., Mukwonago, Wis.) in the javelin (155-2) and Lajuane Bailey (Fr., Palatine, Ill.) in the high jump (6-0).

Carthage travels to Rock Island, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, May 6-7 for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Ericson Stadium beginning at 10 a.m. each day.
