The Carthage College men's track and field team (26-11-1 outdoor record) finished second at the Friday, April 22 Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wis. The host-Titans won the eight-team event with 176 points, followed by Carthage second at 89, Wisconsin-Stevens Points third at 78.50, Wisconsin-Platteville fourth at 32.50, Lawrence University fifth at 30, Ripon College sixth at 23, Concordia University (Wis.) seventh at 22 and the Milwaukee School of Engineering eighth with four points.
The Red Men's Cale Brown (Fr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) was second in the triple jump (42-1 ½), as was Jarrayl Johnson (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill./South Holland-Thornwood) in the shot put (50-10) and Lajuane Bailey (Fr., Palatine, Ill.) in the high jump (6-2 ¾). Austin Twomey (Sr., Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville) was third in the 400-meter dash (52.03), as was Jason Lobojko (Fr., Wood Dale, Ill./Bensenville-Fenton) in the 200-meter dash (24.98) and Reggie Miller (Fr., Downers Grove, Ill./South) in the long jump (21-6 ¼).
Carthage splits squads on the weekend of Friday-Saturday, April 29-30. Part of the team heads to Des Moines, Iowa, on April 29-30 for Drake Relays at Drake University, while the rest of the team goes to Milwaukee for the Saturday, April 30 Wisconsin Private College Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium, beginning at 11 a.m.
