The Carthage College women's tennis team (10-7, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) split a Sunday, April 17 double-dual match with Edgewood College and Wisconsin-La Crosse at Rennebohm Park in Madison, Wis. Carthage nipped Edgewood College (14-8), 5-4, before losing to Wisconsin-La Crosse (19-4) by a 9-0 margin.
Hollis McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 11-11) defeated Edgewood's Hannah Pincsak, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 1 singles before losing to Wisconsin-La Crosse's Kelly Stadum, 6-3, 6-2.
Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill., 15-11) defeated the Eagles' Amber Hemp, 1-6, 6-4, 10-8, at No. 2 singles before falling to Wisconsin-La Crosse's Katie McDonald, 6-3, 6-4.
Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 14-7) split at No. 3 singles.
Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 12-8) lost both of her No. 4 singles contests, as did
Kelsey Bowen (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 4-15) at No. 5 singles.
Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 5-13) split at No. 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (16-8) split. The Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Bizub (8-9) and the No. 3 tandem of Bowen and Weber (2-3) lost both of their matches.
Carthage was scheduled to play Concordia University (Wis.) on Tuesday, April 26, but that match was postponed until Friday, April 29 at the North Shore Country Club in Mequon, Wis., beginning at 5 p.m. On Wednesday, April 27, the Lady Reds were scheduled to play a makeup contest with Olivet Nazarene University at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis., but that match was canceled.
