The Carthage College men's volleyball team (19-10, 8-0 Midwest-III Volleyball Conference), ranked third in the March 22 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, lost to Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne (12-9), 3-0, on Saturday, March 26 at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Mastodons' winning set scores over the Red Men were 25-10, 27-25 and 25-16.

Darryl Shank led Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne with 14 kills and a .565 attack percentage, while Eddie Rivera had 12 kills, a .500 attack percentage, one solo block and three block assists. Tom O'Connell (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) led Carthage with 10 kills.
