The Carthage College men's indoor track and field team (45-13) finished third at the Saturday, Feb. 12 Chicagoland Indoor Track and Field Championship at North Central College's Al B. Carius Track in Naperville, Ill. 

The host-Cardinals won the 17-team event with 182.50 points, followed by the University of Illinois second at 105, Carthage third at 63, the University of Chicago fourth at 62, Lewis University fifth at 50.50, Loyola University (Ill.) sixth at 35, the University of St. Francis (Ill.) seventh at 27, the College of DuPage and Elmhurst College tied for eighth place at 24 each, Concordia University (Chicago) 10th at 21, Harper College 11th at 20, North Park University 12th at 13, Aurora University 13th at 12, Benedictine University (Ill.) 14th at 11, Trinity Christian College 15th with seven points, Judson University 16th with three and St. Xavier University 17th with two points.
 
Carthage's Eric Schmidt (So., Kewaunee, Wis.) finished second in the weight throw (55-3 ¾), as did Jarrayl Johnson (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill./South Holland-Thornwood) in the shot put (51-6 ¼). Mike Oratowski (Jr., Wheaton, Ill./Glen Ellyn-Glenbard South) finished third in the 60-meter high hurdles (8.51), as did Josh Brennan (Sr., Geneva, Ill.) in the weight throw (54-0 ½) and Brad Fortney in the shot put (49-5). 

Greg Raimondi (Jr. Harwood Heights, Ill./Norwood-Ridgewood) was fourth in both the weight throw (53-1 ¾) and the shot put (49-1 ½). B.J. Fuller (Jr., Lake Villa, Ill./Lakes Community) took fifth place in the 3,000-meter run (9:54.37), as did Prentis Wilbourn (Sr., Racine, Wis./Case) in the triple jump (45-6 ½). Justin Sebens tied for fifth in the high jump (6-0 ¾).

The Red Men travel to Stevens Point, Wis., on Saturday, Feb. 19 for the Wisconsin-Stevens Point “Eastbay Invitational” at the Multi Activity Center, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
