The Carthage College women's volleyball team (19-4, 5-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked 10th in the Oct 11 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, won a key CCIW-match over Millikin University (16-7, 4-1 CCIW), 3-0, on Tuesday night, Oct. 11 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Ill. The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Big Blue were 25-18, 25-23 and 25-17. Carthage now has a leg up in the battle for the top seed in the Nov. CCIW Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Lauren Dembkowski (Sr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) paced the Lady Reds with 17 kills and a .444 attack percentage, while middle blocker

On Friday-Saturday, Oct. 14-15, the Lady Reds travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., and to Holland, Mich., to play in the Calvin College/Hope College "Midwest Invitational Tournament." On Friday, Oct. 14, Carthage plays Alma College (14-6) at 5 p.m., EDT, and No. 1 Calvin at 7 p.m., EDT at Calvin's Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids. On Saturday, Oct. 15, the Lady Reds face the College of St. Benedict at Noon, EDT, and No. 14 Hope at 2 p.m., EDT at Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland.
