The Carthage College baseball team (2-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked ninth in the March 2 “D3baseball.com” poll, upended Medaille College (2-1), 16-2, on Sunday, March 7 at Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda, Fla.

Bryan Kieffer (1-0) was the winning pitcher with help from Billy Montemayor in the sixth inning and Dan Weber in the ninth. Joey Aiello went four-for-five with three RBI. Tim Hansen Jr. went two-for-two with a home run and two doubles. Will Hodges went two-for-five with an RBI, and Zach Kozlowski had two doubles in two trips to the plate.

On Monday, March 8, the Red Men play the first of two games with No. 2 the College of Wooster at North Charlotte Regional Park in North Port, Fla., beginning at 2 p.m. (all time EST).
