The Carthage College men's track and field team (48-7), ranked 23rd in the Feb. 17 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, finished seventh at the Saturday, Feb. 20 Wisconsin-Stevens Point “Eastbay Invitational” at the UW-Stevens Point Multi-Activity Center in Stevens Point, Wis. Wisconsin-Stevens Point won the 12-team event with 147.50 points, followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire second at 129, Wisconsin-Whitewater third at 87.80, Wisconsin-Oshkosh fourth at 76.60, Wisconsin-Stout fifth at 46.30, Wisconsin-Platteville sixth at 39.60, Carthage seventh at 38.30, Carroll University eighth at 30.80, St. Norbert College ninth at 19.30, Ripon College 10th at 13, St. Mary's University (Minn.) 11th at 1.50 and Lawrence University 12th with one point.
Carthage's Prentis Wilbourne (Jr., Racine, Wis./Case) finished second in the triple jump (46-2 ¾). Marshall Stewart (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) finished third in the 400-meter dash (50.02). The Red Men travel to Naperville, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 26-27 for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor Track and Field Championship at North Central's new Al B. Carious Track.
