UW-Stevens Point "Eastbay Invitational" Next for the Red Men on Saturday

The Carthage College men's track and field team (48-7), ranked 10th in the Feb. 10 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, finished fifth at the Saturday, Feb. 13 Chicagoland Indoor Track and Field Championship at the University of Chicago's Crown Field House in Chicago. 

North Central College won the 17-team event with 187.50 point, followed by the University of Chicago second at 111, Illinois-Chicago third at 69.50, Lewis University fourth at 60, Carthage fifth at 48, the College of DuPage sixth at 27, Concordia University (Chicago) seventh at 24, Aurora University and Harper College tied for eighth at 22 each, Benedictine University (Ill.) 10th at 19, Valparaiso University 11th at 17, North Park University 12th at 15, Elmhurst College and St. Xavier University tied for 13th at 10 points each, Wheaton College (Ill.) 15th with seven points, Oakton Community College 16th with four points and Trinity Christian College 17th with three points.

Carthage's Josh Brennan (Jr., Geneva, Ill.) won the weight throw (Carthage-record 59-1). Jarrayl Johnson (Jr., Flossmoor, Ill./South Holland-Thornwood) took fourth place in the shot put (45-9 ½), as did Ross Bunchek (Jr., Valparaiso, Ind.) in the weight throw (55-10 ½). Tylor Lewis (Sr., Waterford, Wis/Union) finished sixth in the 800-meter run 1:59.36), and the Red Men picked up a win from their 1,600-meter relay team. Carthage travels to Stevens Point, Wis., on Saturday, Feb. 20 for the Wisconsin-Stevens Point “Eastbay Invitational” at the UW-Stevens Point Multi-Activity Center, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
