The Carthage College men's volleyball team (10-4, 3-0 Midwest-III Volleyball Conference), ranked sixth in the Feb. 9 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, outlasted M-III opponent and No. 12 the Milwaukee School of Engineering (7-5, 2-1 M-III), 3-2, on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage's winning set scores over MSOE were 34-32, 30-27, 19-30, 25-30 and 15-13.
Carthage's Randy Hansen (So., Oak Lawn, Ill.) had 16 kills, and Tom O'Connell (Jr. Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) collected 13 kills. Tim Walker (Jr., Milwaukee, Wis./Marquette University H.S.) totaled six block assists. The Raiders' Glenn Frazee had a match-high 30 kills and hit .368 with five block assists, while Max Martin had 18 kills and hit .308.
Carthage travels to Columbus, Ohio on Friday, Feb. 19 to play NCAA Division I and No. 13 Ohio State University in a 7 p.m., EST match at St. John Arena. The Red Men were scheduled to continue on to Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 20, to play the College of Mount St. Joseph, but that match has been cancelled.
