"It's interesting,” notes Carthage coach
Steve Domin, “that the more-competitive the teams we face, the better we play. Today, however, was not one of those days. Although I felt we were stronger in every facet of the game, this one was closer than the score reflected, or needed to be. Anytime you can get a victory in the hyper-competitive CCIW, it's a good day. It's been a dog fight so far, and I would anticipate much more of the same down the stretch. A goal here or there, and we would be in the thick of things, nationally.”
Carthage travels to Davenport, Iowa, on Wednesday, Oct. 20 to play non-conference opponent St. Ambrose University in a 3 p.m. game at the Davenport Soccer Complex.
