Sam Craig begins her fifth year as a Carthage College part-time assistant water polo coach in 2020.  She also serves as Carthage’s Director of Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center (TARC) Operations/Director of Campus Recreation, a position she was named to in August 2018, as well as an adjunct professor in the department of exercise and sport science.

Craig also oversees the strength and conditioning program for water polo. She has many concentrations including specific certifications in core strength and kickboxing as well as sports nutrition. Areas of major focus for Sam are maintaining mobility and speed while simultaneously gaining muscle and building core strength that can translate in the water.
 
Before being named Carthage’s TARC Operations Director, Craig held the position of Carthage’s TARC manager/Summer Conference Customer Service Manager for a year.
 
Craig graduated from Carthage in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in both biology and exercise and sport science.  While a student, Craig played water polo and was a four-year member of the Carthage Dean’s List.  She received her master’s degree in education, also from Carthage, in 2017.
