Jacob Bush was named Carthage Men’s Volleyball Assistant Coach in August of 2023 after a stellar playing career at Dominican University in River Forest, IL.
As a Junior in 2022, Jacob helped the Stars reach the Elite Eight. He produced 133 kills while hitting .369 and recorded 91 total blocks. Jacob was named NACC Defensive Player of the Week on February 22, 2022. They had a historic season in 2022, being the first team to be ranked #1 nationally at Dominican University.
As a senior in 2023, Jacob was named captain for Dominican. The Stars finished runner-up in the NACC after a deep run in the conference championship tournament. He amassed 225 kills and 147 blocks over 163 sets played throughout his career. He is a two-time NACC Champion who reached the 2021 Final Four and the 2022 Elite Eight.
Over the 2023 summer, he was invited to represent NCAA DIII Men’s Volleyball in Brazil. Jacob went on this trip along with Carthage Alumni and Coach Will Craft, as well as two Carthage Men’s Volleyball players, Zach Bulthuis and Gene McNulty. The team went undefeated while touring Brazil.
Jacob graduated from Dominican in 2023 with a degree in Health and Wellness and a minor in Nutrition.
