Erik Scanlan begins his third year as a graduate assistant coach in 2016-17 after serving as a volunteer assistant coach for both men’s and women’s tennis at Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2012-13.
A native of Libertyville, Ill. Scanlan attended Wisconsin-Whitewater and was a four-year letterwinner for the Warhawks between 2009 and 2012. He amassed 135 combined wins and earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-America honors in 2011 after qualifying for the ITA national tournament.
He graduated in 2013 with a bachelor’s in physical education. Scanlan’s other coaching background includes instruction at the Green Acres Tennis Country Club in Northbrook, Ill., the Forest City Tennis Club in Rockford, Ill., and the Four Lakes Athletic Club in Elkhorn, Wis.
