Carthage College Athletics

Canyon Smith is in his third year as a Carthage College part-time assistant men’s lacrosse coach in 2020-21. Smith lettered four times for Carthage between 2015 and 2018 as a short stick midfielder, and joined the coaching staff in 2019. A native of Overland Park, Kan., Smith graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. His father, Cedric Smith, played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins, and Arizona Cardinals, and is currently an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Denver Broncos.
