Carthage College Athletics

Jose Garcia begins his seventh year as assistant coach in 2019-20. A native of Kenosha, Wisconsin, he attended St. Joseph High School where he earned All-Midwest Classic Conference honors.  Garcia was also named All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2007 & 2008 while playing at Dominican University (Ill.).  Upon graduation, Garcia played one season in the Latin National Professional Basketball League, the top league in Mexico.
 
Before his arrival at Carthage, Garcia was an assistant coach at his alma mater Dominican and the College of Lake County.  He currently works for the Kenosha Unified School District and founded Anointed Hoops in 2013, a Ministry that empowers youth to seek Jesus Christ, value education and develop into leaders that impact their communities. 
 
Garcia graduated from Dominican with a degree in Business Administration in 2010 and completed his master’s in Educational Leadership from Carthage in 2018.
 
Jose will be the primary recruiting contact for Kenosha and Racine County.  He is a member of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
