Carthage College Athletics

2009: Played in all 10 games and made six starts…collected 26 tackles (18 solo, 8 assisted), including four tackles-for-loss and a sack…broke up one pass. 

2008: Played in five-of-10 games and started the Nov. 1 Millikin contest…collected nine tackles. 

2007: Played in eight-of-10 games…collected four tackles (3 solo, 1 assisted), including one sack. 

High School: Named All-Western Sun Conference, Daily Herald all-area, Kane County Chronicle all-area, and Aurora Beacon-News all-area both his junior and senior years…coached by Rob Wicinski…lettered three times in track and field and earned all-conference honors as a junior…National Honor Society member, academic all-state, Western Sun Conference all-academic and three-year honor student. 

Personal: Exercise and sport science major…thrower on the 2008-11 Carthage men’s track and field teams and earned 2010 NCAA All-America honors in the hammer throw…his uncle, Larry Frey, played basketball at Illinois-Chicago and is a member of that school’s athletic hall of fame…named winter 2010 and fall 2010 CCIW/Jack Swartz All-Academic…named to the Carthage dean’s list three times and a five-semester member of the Carthage athletic director’s honor roll…born Oct. 12, 1988.
