Carthage College Athletics

R.J. Chidester enters his second season as a Carthage assistant football coach in 2019, working preimarily with the team's quarterbacks.
 
Chidester began at Carthage in 2018 after one season at NCAA Division I the College of The Holy Cross where he was the tight ends coach.
 
Chidester got his coaching start at his alma mater, Defiance College.  After serving as a graduate assistant with the tight ends group, Chidester was elevated to co-offensive coordinator in 2011 and worked with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
 
In 2012, Chidester took a job as the passing-game coordinator at Alma College, working with the wide receivers and quarterbacks.  In his second season, he assisted in the program’s turnaround, going from 1-9 in 2012 to 7-3 in 2013.  Within two years he was promoted to the offensive coordinator where he stayed for two years before jumping over to the defensive side in a role of co-defensive coordinator, working with the front seven. 
 
A four-year letterwinner in both football and baseball at Defiance, Chidester graduated with in 2008 and received his master's in education, also from Defiance, in 2011.
